This picture demonstrates mass culture in the fact that america as a nation is bombarded with sports year round. These activities are watched, played, and dreamt about by many. Little kids dreaming of how one day they will be a superstar, old men playing a pickup game of basketball in the local park, and high school students spending hours of time lifting weights and practicing to become better at them. I ask myself for what reason do people try so hard to be good at something that is, in the end, just a game. The reason why is because americans hold sports dear to their hearts. Were a very competitive nation that loves winning and hates losing even more.
